3PD

Untitled design (46)_edited.png

3PD or PPPD is also known as persistent postural perception of dizziness and is a vestibular disorder that is characterized by a generalized feeling of dizziness, rocking, swaying, or unsteadiness that lasts longer than 3 months. Most people will suffer with symptoms for at least 15 days out of month, but many will experience daily symptoms.

3PD will start after an acute episode of another vestibular disorder, such as BPPV, vestibular migraine flair, or concussion. While acute symptoms settle, lingering symptoms can leave you feeling debilitated and hopeless, but recovery is possible!

What We Treat

  • Dizziness

  • Unsteadiness

  • Vertigo

  • Fatigue and Brain Fog

  • Motion sensitivity

  • Intolerances to daily activities such as driving, navigating busy environments, making quick changes in direction or motion

  • Recovery, relaxation, and management strategies

How We Treat It

We implement a holistic approach to 3PD using vestibular therapy and wellness counseling. We begin by performing an in depth evaluation to get to the root cause of your symptoms. During our treatment we implement our proven 3 step approach of: prepare, progress, perform. Through this approach we teach you about your symptoms and how to manage them on a daily basis so that you feel more normal, then we progress by strengthening your balance system to better tolerate motion and daily tasks without the fear of another flair, and lastly we challenge your capacity so you can live independent and confident again!

We understand that clients who struggle with vestibular disorders such as 3PD may have fear of coming to a clinic or worry about how you might feel when you get there.  That’s why we created a hybrid & virtual platform so that you can get the highest quality of care from the comfort of your home!
